Hala Ali, MEd.

Artist Educator Researcher

Who am I?

I will be what I will become

I will be the messenger of the unknown

I will be the title and the tenor

I will inform

the oppressor and the oppressed

the murderer and the murdered

the ruler and the ruled

I will be a free gazelle with passion wings

I will jump away from the border and

cross all the oceans

Until there are no more boundaries

To discover who am I...

H Ali, 2018
Hala Ali
She opened her eyes in a house full of colors, grew up with a paintbrush in her hand. Thankful for Sulaiman Ali, the father who taught her how to tell stories through colors and lines. She started her practice with realism, then developed it into abstract and expressionism.

In 2015, she obtained her interior design degree from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Damascus university. She knew that visual art has more power than just creating art. In 2017, she was delighted to do her master's degree in Art-Education. This unique study program IMAE gave her the opportunity to become an agent of change and an artist-educator who can transfer the use of art to others. During her master's, she discovered that visual art has a transformative impact on survivors that are traumatized from war or conflicts.

She continues her professional journey as a researcher. Her research and projects focus on the principles of art education, Trauma prevention, community healing, enabling social inclusion, unlocking suppressed voices, and critical pedagogy.
